Dear group members, I am pretty interested in the book called "Gone with the wind" by Margaret Mitchell and its sequel "Scarlett" by Alexandra Ripley. You can also find the movie and episodes of them. So I would like to write a fanfiction of my favorite books. The following are some other fanfictions that are relate to mine and also a little bit of my review. Thank you for your time.
1. Sleeping walk
This fan fiction gives lots of description of the characters’ inner world. The story continues the misunderstanding between the main character Rhett and Scarlett. The story deeply describes the feeling of losing their unborn child which the author of “Gone with the wind” didn’t concentrate on. It explores the softness within both Rhett and Scarlett. The characteristic had been changed a little bit. Such as: Scarlett flooded her tears out in front of Rhett. However, in the original story Scarlett would always avoid from crying by convincing herself “tomorrow is another day” and she always keeps herself strong and almost adamant.
2. She belongs to me
This fanfic borrows the plot from the original that Rhett was “besotted with his child” and Scarlett was even jealous her own child sometimes. The settings are the same, and even the dialect was tried to maintain as same as the original story when Mammy was talking to Scarlett. There are lots of conversations between Rhett and Scarlett. Although the conversations sounds the two main characters were trying to hurt each other, they still love each other. It is just that neither of them would like to express the feeling. At the end of the fanfic, Scarlett said “Besides, honey I belong to you” sounds a bit abrupt as Scarlett never thought she belongs to anyone. If she thinks she belongs to Rhett, there wouldn’t be so much conflict and misunderstanding between them. However, it won’t degrade the whole article. Good fanfic after all.
3. Returning
This is a description of Rhett’s returning to their house in Peachtree Street as had promised Scarlet to keep the gossip down. It continues the plot and concentrate on Rhett’s feeling where as the original story has lots of descriptions of Scarlett’s feeling. It shows Rhett’s love for Scarlett is always although he left her. Rhett’s feeling is a mystery in the original. Readers can only tell his feeling from the descriptions of his facial expression such as: raised eyebrows, determined eyes, corner of his mouth were down.
4. Always Scarlett
This fanfic add a happy ending for the two main characters. It has four reviews and is in favour with all of them. Scarlett and Rhett had both learnt from their previous mistakes in their marriage. In this fanfic they both seemed start to think from each other’s perspective and try to understand each other. There are fine descriptions of characters’ interior monologue. Conversations between Scarlett and Rhett suit their characteristics. However it sounds a bit too fast to me that the story comes to its ending. The two main characters had been misunderstood each other since they first met. Therefore, I believe there should be some drama for their reunion too.
5. Unravel
This is a terrific fanfic. It has 102 reviews which show how well approved by readers. It keeps the same setting and characters and even maintains their characteristics. There are fine descriptions of the characters. In this fanfic Rhett still tease Scarlett about her love to Ashley Wilkes. It’s actually his own way of getting Scarllet’s attention. His love for Scarlett was from the first time they met, but he was afraid to show it because he knew Scarlett doesn’t love him. This fanfic also has Melanie another main character of Gone with the wind. She is still the most warm hearted, gentle but determined lady in here. She invited Rhett the most unwelcomed one to the Christmas party in her house which needed lots of courage. She is an important figure who can not be neglected in both the original story and the fanfic although she possessed small sections.
6. Seven years later
This is another popular fanfic which continues the story to the next generation. Wade and Ella both seemed have some of their mother Scarlett’s characteristics which are opposite to the original story. Some new characters are added into the story.
7. A new life
This is the continuing story for sequel of Gone with the wind. The sequel is called “Scarlett” which has a happy ending for Rhett and Scarlett and also gives them another baby called Cat. This fanfic describes their life after escape from the tower.
8. Gone with the wind
This is a rewrite of the story that changes the setting to 21st century. Some of the linguistic features are changed as well. The language is not restrained anymore. The expression of love and interest are straight forward.
9. The train
This is Rhett side of the story what happened after he told Scarlett that he is going to leave her. It keeps the sad ending for the story. However, it can be easily continued with after his arrival of Charleston.
10. The final chapter
This is an additional chapter added to the ending. Basically describes how Rhett remembered their marriage. This fanfic has changed the characteristics of Rhett and Scarlett. Rhett is strong and clever but never violent in the original story. He is a real gentle man but different from ordinary people. Scarlett is clever and strong too. She never shows her weakness or tears in front of people. However, this fanfic changed them all.

Nathan's Fanfiction Reviews
Family Guy - Flag This
This Fanfiction has been written as a full episode of the Family Guy cartoon and could easily be made into a real episode of the animated series created by Seth Macfarlene. A very humorous piece of writing that definitely follows the Family Guy Series original form of comedy. It has been written in a script format, making it easy to follow, picture the episode and understand what is happening from start to finish. Characters throughout the fanfiction piece clearly share the same characteristcs of those in the series making the writing more humorous and a lot like the animated show. This is evident through the unique dialogue used by each character. The constant use of flashbacks and cutaway scenes are very creative and share Family Guy's intention in being very random, adding to the humour. This fanfiction piece is a great comical read for Family Guy fans that follow the series.
The Simpsons - Homer the Cop
'Homer the Cop' is an attempt at a plot of an original Simpson's episode. Written in the form of a story is is easy to follow and see what the author has attempted to create. This is a short piece of writing involving the characters of Homer Simpson, Ned Flanders and Clancy 'Chief' Wigum. The characters have shared the same relationships as they do in the animated series. I.e. Homer's dislike for Ned Flanders. Although characters are clear, the dialouge used throughout the short story is not similar to that used throughout the episodes. This makes the piece of writing less funny. The author has tried to follow in the comedic style of the Simpson's, created by Matt Groening, with an original storyline of Homer stealing Wigum's cop car and getting himself into trouble for it. A good attempt at a fanfiction for The Simpsons cartoon and with a bit of work can be developed further.
The Hangover - How Phil Got Injured
This Fanfiction piece of writing has been done as part of the movie 'The Hangover'. The author has written an idea of how a character in the film got injured that was not explained in the movie. During this comedy movie we know that Phil (one of the main characters) was in hospital with concusion and other injuries, but the viewers are never told how he ended up in hospital. This Fanfic author has attempted to make a reason as to how Phil got injured on the night of his friend's bachelor party. The author's idea is very original and quite amusing. The author keeps in the theme of the movie very well as the characters were clear and have been represented through their actions and humerous dialogue. Unique parts of the movie were brought into the piece of writing which made it easy to follow and relate back to the movie. A successful piece of fanfiction writing.
Tropic Thunder - Tropic Blunder
The author of this piece is writing is based on the comedy movie 'Tropic Thunder"'. The author however has only done chapter one. The writing is not clear and quite short so you will have had to have seen the movie to understand what the author has tried to create. The introduction is very funny and is a good start to the piece of work. The author has attemped to use all the main characters in the opening chapter but it is difficult to gain an understanding of them. The fanfiction makes for an interesting read as it is full of action. I believe the author should continue to work on this piece and add more chapters.
Pineapple Express - A Dopeland Fairytale
This fanfic writing for Pineapple Express has been written as a day in the life of Kelly. She is not a character in the movie but the writing involves the main characters of the movie Dale, Saul and Red. The chapter titled 'This Is Your Life', goes through a day of Kelly's life after a party which she can not remember alot of. The piece of writing starts off funny alot like the movie and how the main characters are represented. The chapter gives the reader a background into Kelly, her life and feelings and how she has come to be involved with the Pineapple Express characters. The chapter ends with Dale letting Kelly know about another party on the next night with his friends Saul and Red. This leaves readers looking forward to chapter two and asking what will happen at this next party with the Pineapple Express crew. This author should continue her story. Bringing the main characters more into the story could make this more humerous.
Family Guy - I Pity The Fool
This is a short piece of fan fiction based on the Family Guy cartoon. It has been written in the form of a flashback or cutaway scene that often happens during the Family Guy episodes. The flashback occurs when Peter Griffen is stuck in the stairs and has a flashback to when he was in a worse situation when he met 'Mr T' at the airport. It is definitely an original piece of fan fiction because it is such a unique idea. It is a very random cutaway/flashback, but the more random the better in the case of the Family Guy animated series. It wasn't as funny as I thought it could be, but being so random this flashback could work for the family guy series. Also the use of 'Mr T' in any Family Guy episode is usually humorous. A very farfetched fanfiction but could definitely work for those Family Guy fans.
The Simpsons - Bartman Adventures
The Bartman Adventures are a series of stories about Bart Simpson as a Superhero in Springfield. This fan fiction describes the character very effectively, both Bart's characteristics and the Bartman superhero he becomes by night are clearly evident. The author has created a funny piece of fanfiction that involves other characters of The Simpsons episodes including Chief Wiggum, Jimbo Jones as the villain and Milhouse as Bartman's sidekick. This fanfiction is only the beginning of the adventure and the author is attempting to continue with the 'Bartman Adventures' and looking for a major villain to take down the defender of Springfield. If developed further, this author could create many adventures by including further characters from The Simpsons episodes.
The Hangover - Fun Night
The Hangover movie is a great film to base a fanfiction on. I really enjoyed a 'Fun Night' and is the best piece of fanfiction I have read so far. The author has written this work as if it was before the movie starts, before they wake up after there night out in Las Vegas. It describes the main characters heading back to there Hotel Villa in the messy state they were in. A very funny piece of writing, and being a fan of the movie found the writing enjoyable to read. This fanfiction has a great use of humerous dialouge that captures the qualities of all the characters (Alan, Phil, Doug and Stu) very well and the moods they would have been in after the night. This piece of fanfiction could have easily been apart of the movie as an introduction, illustrating the different characters and setting for the film. Overall, a great piece of fanfiction, very funny, relates well to the movie and has captured the characters perfectly.
Pineapple Express - Just Another Day
'Just Another Day' has been written as a scene that takes place after the movie 'Pineapple Express' where Dale (the main character) ends his relationship with his girlfriend. It is a very short piece of writing but amusing. The fanfiction includes the characters Dale, Saul, Red and Dale's girlfirend Angie. There is great use of dialogue used by the characters that is both funny and gives the impression that they are not phased about the adventure they have been through, similar to that of the movie. I enjoyed this fanfiction mainly because of the dialogue used by Red and Dale. The ending is not as funny as the opening sequence of the fanfiction and could be worked on and involvement of the three main characters could make the conclusion more amusing.
The Simpsons - Weird Springfield
Another Fanfiction that has been based on 'The Simpsons' episodes created by Matt Groening. The author has set the story in Moe's Tavern involving the characters of Moe, Homer and Barney. The Story is easy to follow but quite random as the author has tried to make it scary by being a Halloween story. The author has captured the character of Moe very successfully throught the angry and old character created. The other characters have not been developed so well and do not represent them as they would appear in the TV show. I was disappointed that the fanfic story was not very funny. Based on The Simpsons animated series I was hoping for a humorous piece of fanfic. This shows the difficulty in attempting to write a comedic type fanfiction. The end of the story eds with Moe never being seen again. A poor ending to the fanfiction.
Sigrid Fanfiction Reviews
IF A BODY CATCH A BODY COMING THROUGH THE RYE
This fanfic was written as part of the authors school English project. He has clearly well researched the book. The voice he has given to the character Holden is near identical to the one given to him by Salinger, the original author. He has also referred to events that took place in the original, something I think is important to maintain the mood of the book. Had the author been too liberal with his imagination in this fanfic it would have deterred from the message in the story. Holden battles an inner monologue familiar to most adolescents, touching on themes of depression, alienation and sexuality. First published in 1951 this fanfic reveals the relevance it still holds among modern readers, and the ease at which the author was able to re-create Holden's voice shows that the themes of the book are still universal.
500 DAYS OF AUTUMN
This fanfiction is terrible. As a follow-up to the film 500 Days of Summer I found it predictable that the 'story' be based on a girl named Autumn. As it happens Autumn is a real character from the film and not a cringe-inducing attempt at irony. The fanfic is as cliched as you would expect and it appears the author is using it as a diary entry for his own failed relationships. It is written in first person as a male character but I am convinced the author is a lonely and desperate female who is living vicariously through the Summer/Autumn fantasy. Apart from the spelling and grammar bombshells the fanfic re-creates perfectly the unimportant sap of the original film, and in that sense the authors writing is a success.
THE FLIGHT
A well written fanfiction based on the film Breakfast at Tiffany's. It recalls a moment that took place in the film (or book); the famed kiss between Holly Golightly and 'Fred'. The author has set the scene competently and Fred's apartment and the New York stoop are pictured clearly in my mind reading this. Holly Golightly is originally enigmatic and neurotic with a naive spontaneity about her, a thick skin she has developed due to her job as an escort. The character the author of the fanfic has created differs from this as her thoughts and feelings are exposed due to the style of narrative they have used. Holly is self-analytical in the fanfic when she should be remaining a mystery to the reader.
ONE LESS LOOSE END
This fanfiction is based on two characters from the film American Psycho - Patrick Batemam and Donald Kimball. In the scene Bateman kills the police detective Kimball, then contemplates his existence. The spelling of Kimballs name changes throughout, an error that adds to the somewhat unkempt retelling of the fictional scene. The film is narrated by Bateman using passages from the book by Bret Easton Ellis so the character has a pre-established personality. Patrick is a twenty-something wealthy Wall Streeter, a victim of the eighties boom in yuppie culture, with an affinity to fine food, clothes, women, alcohol and murder. The author has used these obvious character traits with little imagination and no real attempt at furthering the story. His vocabulary is true to the narration style used by Ellis but his execution is poor and he has failed to make sense of an event that could have been a great addition to the original plot.
UNINTENTIONS
This is a sinister take on a Winnie the Pooh tale. It is very brief and a work of complete fiction. Though it is not referencing any existing Pooh story the author has managed to explore depth in the characters regardless. It is told with the same inquisitive nature of original Pooh, all the while discussing themes of suicide and alcoholism in the fabled young animals. To successfully re-create the tale telling so distinctive to A.A. Milne in a few paragraphs is a great achievement on the authors part.
PINE BARRENS
A fanfiction based on the staple Sopranos episode "Pine Barrens" in which Christopher and Paulie take their colleague from the Russian mob, Valery, out to the woods to shoot and bury. In the episode he escapes but due to it being a snow storm they assume him dead. This fanfiction gives an alternate ending to the episode and Valery lives, finding his way back to the road and stealing Christopher and Paulies car. It is plausible as a Sopranos plot and I would have enjoyed the episode had it played out that way but it is difficult to believe in text form as the over describing of Valerys surroundings in the forest takes away from the "kill or be killed" suspense that Sopranos is famous for.
LOVE
This fanfiction is based on the film My Neighbour Totoro. It is told from Totoro's point of view. He is the spirit of a forest where two girls, Mei and Satsuki, move to the neighbourhood of. Their mother is ill and he spends time with them, cheering them up. This fanfic tries to explain the love between Totoro and the two sisters. It is not told well, and if you have not seen the film it would leave a lot of gaps. I hope that my fanfiction, which is going to be based on the same film, does not come across this way.
GROWING UP
This fanfic is based seven years after the film My Neighbour Totoro. Satsuki and the boy interest Kanta have grown together and are falling for each other. It is more about the relationship between Kanta and Satsuki than about Totoro and the other keepers of the forest. It deals with facing adulthood and whether that will mean losing the power to see Totoro, along with their innocence. I am not so interested in this aspect of the Totoro story.
LAST RIDE
Similar to the LOVE fanfic this is about Kanta and Satsuki growing up and forming a bond. They take their last ride on the Cat Bus together before becoming too old for the fantasy. The fanfiction has conveyed the excitement Satsuki and Mei felt riding in the Cat Bus in the film, I hope to somehow convey this in my own fanfic.

Zacs 10 fanfic links
Transformers - Bumblebee and Honeybee
A short story set one year after the end of Transformers 2 which tries to introduce a new character. Sam has a new girl in his class at college and the writer tries to imply her car is a transformer like Sams, although the writer doesn't explicitly state it is a transformer. The fanfic ends quite abruptly and leaves you wondering what will happen next. Sadly though there is quite a lot of spelling errors littered throughout but that doesn't stop you being able to understand the general plot.
A fanfic using the same narrative and ending of the Alice in Wonderland movie by Tim Burton, but with narrative from the pov of Alice, and how she doesn't want to leave underland or the Hatter but feels she has to. It changes the ending slightly by adding Hatter giving her a gift as she leaves. It is a rather well written fanfic but kind of unoriginal as all it really does is add narrative to an almost identical ending.
A batman fanfic entirely from the perspective of the Joker's knife. It is quite an odd fanfic as it is from the pov of something inanimate, but due to this is quite unique. It is rather grim as it is about a knife but the constant personification in it makes it interesting.
This fanfic takes three characters from That 70's show and pictures what they would be like today. It focuses on Jackie, Michael and Kelso. Each description includes other characters from the the series as well, usually with dialogue surrounding them to help describe the writers opinion on what the characters would be like in the year 2000's.
A short fanfic from the pov of Tony DiNozzo including all the main characters from NCIS. He bought bad shampoo which turned his hair blue and the resulting fanfic is dialogue from his colleagues plus his thoughts. It adopts the characters of the show well and if you are familiar with the show you can almost imagine the expressions and tones of the characters along with the dialogue.
A very short fanfic written in third person of Donny Donowits and his experiences of being a basterd, plus his thought of the other basterds. Mainly about how 'badass' Donny thinks he was in the basterds. It feels as if it fits in very well with the movie and the 'image' of the movie, as well as seeming like something very Tarantino.
This Heroes fanfic takes on the same style of the Heroes series. It flickers between different characters frequently whilst having slight connections between each character and the story being told. This fanfic starts out about Claire going to live with Peter and Nathan, moves to Noah thinking about Claire, then back to Claire again and finally to 4 completely different characters with an appearance of Peter at the end. Adapting the original style of Heroes makes the fanfic seem more believable, as if it could be the subject of an actual episode.
Seemingly set a while before the movie, this fanfic introduces the dog Sherlock Holmes uses to test things on in the movie. The narrative and dialogue is from Sherlock Holmes pov and uses the Queens English quite well to convincingly portray Holmes and Watson in the characters natural manner. It is well written and could easily be a legitimate prequel to the movie detailing the introduction of the dog.
A pretty unoriginal subject for a fanfic. The idea of the entire story being a dream but only letting the reader know at the end has been done to many times before. Don is alone after hours in the office catching up on some work and starts to feel very tired, spooky ghost like scenes follow. The fanfic itself was quite well written and made good use of metaphors and descriptive language, but the fact the entire thing was a dream that he woke up from at the end was a big let down.
A fanfic centered around an 'interrogation gone wrong' scenario. Two characters of the TV series, Jack and Sam, are interrogating a man when he suddenly pulls out a gun and starts ordering them around. It is set from Sam's pov and is pretty well written. Is has periods of dialogue followed by periods of narrative so you can see what is being said but also what Sam thinks about what is being said. Though is it sort of let down by the fact it is only a small portion of what could be a longer episode.
